An oven-compatible lid that’s an ideal companion for baking bread, but can be used for so much more. Made by a family-run business in Shropshire.
---DETAILS---
Shropshire-based Netherton Foundry pans have all the advantages of cast iron cookware, with half the weight. This spun iron lid, which retains heat beautifully, is designed to be placed over bread as it bakes on a griddle, sheet tray, or baking stone, in order to trap steam and keep the dough moist while developing a beautiful crust. You can also use it to keep food warm on the table before serving, or to cover cakes and baked goods that sit at room temperature. Perfect for use with the Netherton Foundry Bake/Griddle Plate.
Note: This pan should be seasoned before use, to repel rust and fortify the layer of seasoning. This layer should be regularly maintained. Read our instructions on how to season and maintain a spun iron pan, and why it's worth it, in our guide.
---BENEFITS---
‘It took my homemade bread from “rustic” to “boulangerie-level”.’
