A heavy-duty black iron tortilla press for making Mexican tortillas, Indian rotis, and other flatbreads efficiently, designed in collaboration with London chef Santiago Lastra. ---DETAILS--- The Netherton Foundry Tortilla Press applies British craftsmanship to one of the most essential tools for Mexican cuisine. Two heavy flat black iron plates with stainless steel nuts and bolts, plus oak handles and top knobs, ensure consistently round and thin tortillas up to 9½ inches (24cm) in diameter. The device, which works well for Indian flatbreads like rotis and chapatis, comes pre-seasoned with flax oil for easy release properties. Designed in collaboration with London-based Mexican chef Santiago Lastra, it is made to withstand heavy daily use and will last forever.
Note: This press should be seasoned before use, to repel rust and fortify the layer of seasoning. This layer should be regularly maintained. Read our instructions on how to season and maintain spun iron cookware, and why it's worth it, in our guide.
---BENEFITS--- ‘It saves so much time (and faff) as you don’t have to roll out every piece, and guarantees that perfect poof when you heat tortillas on the hob.’
